During the sixth week in art appreciation we were learning about the principles of design, which are as follows. Unity/Variety, Balance, Emphasis, Subordination, Contrast, Repetition/Rhythm, and Proportion. While learning these we were assigned to create an image that represents the American Culture, which is pictured below. It is a gray scale arm holding an un-proportionately large droplet of blood coming from its own arm. Inside this"blood" are all things i felt represented American Culture.
